B4 Th Morning Ntwa, Wilmington, Tuwdiy, Jin. 27, 1981 IN MEMORIAM Obituaries Mugging may cost pair 1 year for each nickel By TOM GREER Staff writer Glenn A. Dumpson and Larry J. Dorsey will be sentenced to at least a year in jail for each nickel they apparently got in a 30-cent robbery last fall. A Superior Court jury yesterday found Dumpson, 20, and Dorsey, 21, both of 1300 block West guilty of first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy in the Nov.

22 mugging of Gloria Bargonetti, 51, of the 1300 block Shallcross Ave. Mrs. Bargonetti said she was grabbed around the neck and thrown to the ground, aggravating an earlier vertebrae injury. The minimum mandatory punishment for first-degree robbery is three years in jail. If Dumpson and Dorsey split the amount Mrs.

Bargonetti said they took from her, each one got 15 cents. Thus the least jail time each man will get would be a year for each nickel. The two men could draw up to 30 years for the robbery. Each man could also receive up to seven years for the conspiracy conviction. The jury deliberated about half an hour before returning its verdict, ending the one-day trial.

Mrs. Bargonetti said a man stepped in front of her and put a gloved hand over her mouth. His companion grabbed her around the neck from behind. The incident occurred on Delaware Avenue near Rodney Street at about 7:30 p.m., as she was walking home with some groceries. The woman said she was thrown to the ground, her coat pocket was ripped off and 30 cents taken from it.

She said the men fled across an apartment house lawn and down an alley toward Shallcross Avenue. Mrs. Bargonetti found a welfare card with Dumpson's name on it where she was thrown to the ground. She summoned police from a nearby house and turned the card over to the officers who answered her call. Dumpson and Dorsey were arrested as they were jogging on Van Buren Street, northeast of the robbery scene, according to Wilmington Patrolman Sean T.

Fin-erty. They were returned to the 1500 block Delaware where Mrs. Bargonetti identified Dorsey. Dumpson and Dorsey both denied the mugging. They testified they were on their way to the Warner Middle School at 18th and Van Buren streets to play basketball when they were arrested.

Dumpson claimed he had lost his identification card about 12 days earlier. Driver hurt while fleeing state police MAGNOLIA Steven L. Pearson, 24, of Dover, was slightly injured early yesterday when his car overturned while being chased by state police. Pearson sped through a radar trap shortly before 1 a.m. on Kent 105 police said, and an officer chased him.

As he tried to turn onto Kent 30, Pearson lost control of his car and it hit an embankment, turning over twice, police said. Pearson was taken to Kent General Hospital, where he was treated for a back injury. He was later charged with failure to stop at police command, reckless driving, speeding, and driving without proof of insurance.
