Mike was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen (Quinlan); devoted father of Matthew, Peter, Marjorie and Emily; loving brother of Robert (Debra) and Gilbert (Mardian).

Bromwell, Age 92, formerly residing in Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away on Monday evening, October 4, 2010, at Quality Health Care of Fernandina. Born in Cleveland, OH, she was one of six children born to the late John and Stella Rezac Wancata.

Mrs. Bromwell had lived in Newark, Delaware for many years where she worked within the Delaware School System until retirement. She and her husband, Ralph H. Bromwell, had resided in Lady Lake, FL for a short time before his passing when she joined her daughter and son-in-law in Orlando, FL. In 1993, they moved to Fernandina Beach where she has remained.

Mrs. Bromwell had been an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Newark and after to FL, joined St. Michael Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach. She had been active with the Nassau County Council on Aging, enjoyed her time at the Fernandina Beach Recreational Center playing Bridge and Pinochle as well knitting and crocheting. Mrs.

Bromwell leaves behind, her daughter, Donna Martin (John), Fernandina Beach, FL; her granddaughter, Janel Avila (Orlando), Yulee, FL; her great granddaughter, Kenley Avila; her step-daughter, Carol Windward (Bill), Newark, DE, and family; her step-son, Wayne Bromwell (Diana), Myrtle Beach, SC, and family; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass Christian Burial will be at 10 am, on Saturday, October 16, at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Catholic Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE. There will be no visitation. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Ralph in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, Delaware.

(Miller) Cave Age a resident of Windsor Place, Hockessin, DE, passed on into heaven on October 10, 2010. Nellie was born on a farm in southern West Virginia, but spent her adult life in Wilmington, DE. She was a homemaker and also a babysitter for the children of many, women's organizations during the 1970's.

Nellie enjoyed gardening, especially house plants, and attending Community Fellowship Church in Brookland Terrace. Her husband, Isaac Lester Cave passed away in, 1985. She is survived by her four children; Richard Lester (Loretta) of Henderson, TN, Vernon E. (Tish) of Newark, DE, Linda Darlene Steele (Frank), and Cheryl Ann Moyer (Dennis); 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor Place for the wonderful care Nellie received while she was a resident.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 15, at 9:30 am at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3710 Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road where friends may call after 8:30 am. Emmell, Sr.

William E. Emmell age 86, of North East, MD passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010. William was born on November 27, 1923 in Salem, NJ to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Bradley) Emmell. After serving his country in the Army during WWII, where he earned the Army of Occupation, European African Middle Eastern Campaign, and World War II Victory Medals, he returned home and was employed with Motor or Wheel Corp. of which he later retired.

William enjoyed fishing, crabbing and spending time with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Elkton VFW Post He is survived by his sons, William E. Emmell, Jr. and his wife Evelyn of Bear, DE, Warren L. Emmell and his wife June of New Castle, DE, Edward Emmell and his wife Esther of Newark, DE and Christopher L.

Emmell of Chesapeake City, MD; daughter, Elizabeth Brown and her husband Walt of PA; a very close niece, Mary Petterson of Newark, DE and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles B. Emmell: sister, Mary L. Travaline; daughters, Diane R. Hart and Catherine J.

Emmell; his beloved companion, Louise Franklin. A Life Home. www.delawareonline.com Robert Edward Jenkins, II The spirit of Robert Edward Jenkins II returned to the places he loved so much on October 4, 2010. He received his undergraduate degree, from Harvey S. Mudd completed his graduate work with the Colorado School of Mines.

He began his career as a geologist with Conoco, and continued with until he retired. He lived in Brazil for several years and spent most of his adult life in Delaware, but he was a native of the West. An accomplished scientist as a professional, he was also mineral collector. Reading was a passion for music was another large part of his life. He loved to sing and play his guitar.

Although he was taken from those who loved him too soon, he lived a good life. He is survived by his wife, Nadir, who he met in Brazil and his daughter, Stephanie, both of Newark, DE; his sister, Christine Armstrong and brotherin-law, Jim Armstrong, of Spokane, WA; his nephews, Gordon Armstrong and kane, WA ArmBrandon Armstrong, of Spostrong, of Seattle, WA. A memorial will be held at the Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg, NJ. Jean C. Jester Mrs.

Jean C. Jester, of New Castle, DE, died on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Jester was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 28, 1927, daughter of the late John Curran and Agnes Dolan Curran. She graduated first in her class from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and began her career as a registered nurse at the close of World War II, working at the former Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.

She would later become a full-time homemaker who delighted in spending time with her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren. A devout Catholic, Mrs. Jester was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima parish and its BVM Sodality. She also volunteered in the church's food pantry for many years, as well as Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Howard D.

Jester, daughters, Elizabeth Tacy Jester (James Williams) of Great Falls, VA, Nancy Jean Nelson (Allan) of Middletown, DE, Judy Brucia (Jim) of Westfield, NJ, and Kathy Prokop (John) of Florham Park, NJ; sisters, Margaret Ariganello and Mary Montana, a both Georgetown, DE; and 14 grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, on Wednesday, October 13, at the Jester residence, 7 Fols Crescent, New Castle, DE 19720. Joseph was born in Newport, on September 6, 1919 late Joseph Francis Lajoie and Mary Ellen Cooker. While working at the Camden ship Yards, the Navy Department during WWII him and his family to the Panama Canal Zone, USA, to use his welding skills to repair the canal locks and war ships moving through the canal.

Upon returning to the States he settled in Penns Grove, NJ, where he worked as a welder at the DuPont Co. in Carneys Point, NJ for over 30 years before retiring to begin his own welding business. He retired from his own business at the age of 72 moved to Williamsburg, VA. With too much time on his hands, he began to venture in the furniture and woodworking craft a and became quite talented as a self taught furniture craftsmen. Later he and his wife moved to Valdosta, GA, where he continued with his woodworking.

Their house in Valdosta displayed several fine pieces of his furniture. to keep busy and worked, actively death. until the time of his Mr. Lajoie is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth Homan Lajoie, and children: Ruth E. Lajoie and long time Sharyn Wingate of Newark, DE; Judith L.

Hall and husband David of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Barbara, A. Lajoie of Mesa, Aimee Homan Gilbert and Husband Walter of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Marra (Kirwan) Age 80, of Wilmington, DE, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 9, 2010 at Foulk Manor North. Josephine was a 1948 graduate of the Juniorate of Sisters of St. Joseph in Flushing, New York. She retired from the DuPont Company in 1992 after 25 years of employment. She was a member of the Irish Culture Club and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Throughout her life, Josephine was committed to her Catholic faith and her service to others. Over the years, she and her devoted spouse, Alex, were active as volunteers with Meals on Wheels, Emmanuel Dining Room, and the IHM Altar Guild. Josephine is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alexander A. of Wilming. ton; son Ralph Marra of Wilmington; daughter Maggie Saksa and her husband John of Newark; son Bill Marra and his wife Loyee Ling of Smyrna, GA; sister Mary T.

Arrangements by CREMATION SERVICE OF DELAWARE Arnold N. Lee Charles "Fred" Carter Passed away peacefully on October 9, 2010, at his home in Wilmington's Acres" in the care of his loving family. Fred was a Wilmington native, born in 1927 to Charles and Rose Carter. Fred attended Brown VoTech High School. In 1945, Fred enlisted the U.S.

Navy and served in the Pacific during WWII. Returning from the war, Fred worked for Joseph Bancroft Sons for 27 years. He then worked for the DuPont Company, retiring after 17 years of dedicated service in 1993. A lifelong member of the Stapler Athletic Assoc. for 50 years, Fred enjoyed spending time with his many friends at Stapler and marching in the St.

Patrick's Day Parade. He truly loved the time spent with his grandchildren, summers spent with his wife and daughter Rosemary in Minnesota, and taking long scenic drives, especially to Lancaster, PA. He was an avid gardener, whose hibiscus bush on the front lawn bloomed the day he passed. Fred is survived by his wife of 52 years Elizabeth "Libby" Long from Cork, Ireland, his five children, son Patrick and wife Francesca, son Charles III and wife Micielle, daughter Rosemary, son Gerald and wife Cara, and son Sean and wife Cathleen, and his ten grandchildren Rachael Flynn and husband John, Taylor, Peyton, Andrew, Laura, Conor John, Se Sean Michael, Theresa, Cara and John. He dearly loved his only surviving sibling, his sister, Gladys Davis, and dear friend, Betty Maggitti, with whom he spent many hours playing cards and his brother-in-law, Mike Long.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rose Carter, and his brother James. A viewing will be conducted on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 5-7 pm, at the McCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3710 Kirkwood Highway (Rt. 2 at Duncan Rd.) Wilmington, DE 19808. Born in Chester County, PA, he was the son of the late Caressa Crowe and Walter Lee, Jr. After graduating from Newark High School, Newark, DE, his hometown, Arnold continued his education and graduated from University of Delaware.

Arnold continued to pursue graduate studies and advanced degrees there, Penn State, University of Maryland, Towson and West Chester in his field of secondary education and counseling. He was very active in civic, church and public affairs and served multiple terms on the Rising Sun, Maryland zoning and planning board including two terms as secretary. He was the founder of Rising Sun Community Center and was one of the founders of the Rising Sun Medical Center, a full range medical center. He was a consultant to the US Army, numerous court and police groups and social service agencies. Very active in Student Youth activities, he was a member of Maryland State Department of Education Student Advisory Committee and Coordinator of Maryland Student Council of Cecil Eastern Shore.

Along the way Arnold became a real estate broker and owner of A.N. Lee Reality for many years serving the area of Cecil and Harford Counties, MD and New Castle County, DE. Among his various interests and hobbies, meeting people and travel were uppermost. He traveled extensively both domestically and abroad. Arnold was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Newark, DE and a regular attendee of the Willow Valley Chapel, Lancaster.

Associate member of The Kirk, Dunedin, FL; was a member of Hiram Lodge, No. 25, Delaware Valley Consistory, Chapter Scottish 10 OES; Rite; a Life Member of both National Education Association and Maryland State Teach'er's Association; Cecil CO. Teachers Association; Cecil Co. Historical Society; Cecil Co. Farm Bureau; New Castle Moose Club; Willow Street Lions Club; University, of Club; Delaware Media Blue Heights Country Club and Pequea Sportsman Association.

He was a former member of the National Board of Realtors, Cecil County Board of Realtors, North East Yacht Club, Chantilly Manor Country Club, Milroy American Legion and Janes Methodist Church, Rising Sun, MD.
