KOLAKOWSKI AGE: 87 CLAYTON, DE Kolakowski, (Kelly) Kolakowski of Clay Thomas A. age 87 of Clayton, DE passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. He married the love of his life, Dolores. They lived two years in Philadelphia, Pa before moving to Clayton, DE.

He worked as a carpenter with Local 626. He then moved to Clayton, DE to become a dairy farmer eventually returning to work as a carpenter. He enjoyed time at his home in Long Neck and winters in Clearwater Beach, FL. He encouraged education to his children and afforded them a wonderful lives and memories. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (Dep-tula) Kolakowski in May of 2017 and his daughter, Julie.

He is survived by his sons; Thomas (Bernadette) Kolakowski, Jr. of Dover, DE, John (Donna) Kolakowski of Lewes, DE and Andrew husbands, Raymond Sharp and Wilmer Jones, her sons, Wayne E. and Raymond F. Sharp, and her sister, Marie Dembeck. Grace is survived by her grandchildren, Wayne E.

Sharp and his wife, Maria, of Alexandria, VA, Tamatha M. Boyer and her husband, Jason, of New Castle, DE and Brian C. Sharp and his wife, Soo, of Dumfries, VA; and her great grandchildren, Wesley Sharp and Summer Boyer. Also surviving are her siblings, Edward Murray, Ronald Martini, Kenneth Martini and Karen Purta; and special niece and nephew, Dolores and Charlie Rice. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21st at 11 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where friends and family are invited to visitation after 10 AM.

Burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. Condolences can be made by visiting MealeyFuneral Homes.com the Senate. He was on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Chapter of the American Red Cross and also on the Board of the New Church Theological School as well as a director of the school. He served on many New Castle County Board committees. The family would like to thank Home Instead, Fre-senius Medical Care, Sarah Torrigiani MD and especially his caregiver Wanda Henderson who understood him well.

He is predeceased by his brother Larry and a sister Kathleen. Peter is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faith Poole Greeley, daughters Karen Pena (Charles) of Arlington, VA, Susan Abelson (Jeremy) of Chadds Ford, PA and Laura Greeley of Wilmington, and grandchildren Cullen Abelson, Charlotte Abelson and Marin Pena. He is also survived by his brother Robert Greeley (Judy) of Kennett Square, PA and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday July 29, 2017 at the Church of the Holy City, Pennsylvania Avenue and Broom Street, Wilmington, DE. Born in Middletown, NY, Grace was the daughter of the late Donald Murray and Geraldine (Burhard) Murray Martini. She worked for the Hotel DuPont as a waitress and hostess in the Green Room and ran the banquet room in the Gold Room. She was an active member of Middletown Senior Citizens and T.O.P.S.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her Peter Noyes Greeley, age 85, passed away at home on June 30, 2017 after a long illness from kidney failure. He was the son of Lawrence Hurd Greeley and Anna Noyes Greeley. As a youth he was an Eagle Scout and later served as scout master. He attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Peter was a member of the 294th Field Artillery in El Paso, Texas with the US.

Army. He joined T.B. O'Toole Realtors in 1957. He started his own company, Peter N. Greeley Real Estate in 1977 and was president until he retired in 2002.

In the early 1980' he started his building development company. Peter enjoyed traveling with his family, fishing, wa-terskiing and golfing at the Wilmington Country Club. He was chairman of the finance committee to elect Bill Roth to Congress and MOLLY JOE ANN MURRAY AGE: 61 LEWES PETERP.KOLISS AGE: 101 WILMINGTON ROLAND R. HITCHENS JR. Roland was an accomplished racquetball player, enjoyed golf, and target shooting. He was a life member of the 3rd Marine Division Association and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife Kristina Ann (nee Pagano) Hitchens; sister, Nancy Zusi, New Bern, NC, nephews, Kevin and Michael and his beloved Boston Terriers, Jake and Bella. An avid sailor and racing competitor, Molly was a devoted member of the Rehoboth Bay Sailing Association, a past Commodore and member of the board of directors. She served on the board of directors for Bethel Cemetery and was the treasurer. Molly loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her daughter Halie and partner Rob. Known for her Irish sense of humor, Molly enjoyed gardening, hummingbirds and feeding them, sewing, cooking, reading, photography and jewelry making. Molly was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas W.

Murray, III. She is survived by her daughter, Halie Emerson Murray-Davis of Lewes; longtime partner, Glenn Robert "Rob" Davis, of Lewes; parents, Thomas and Nancy Murray of Dover; and brother, John Murray and his wife Debbie of Dover. Lois passed away comforted by the hands of her children: Gary Patrick Lennon (Linda), Pam Howard, Robin Williams and Mike Lennon (Dottie). Her life is also celebrated with deep gratitude by her grandchildren: Sean Lennon (Amanda), Sarah Keyes (Brian), Kelley Aston (Wayne), Brad Wockenfuss, Jeremy Wockenfuss (Pam), Caitlin Reste (Kevin), Travis Williams (Bess), Zachary Williams, Mackenzie Houser (Mike), Josh and Elena Lennon, Vanessa Stout (Daniel) and David Mays (Jackie). Great-grandchildren, some too little to have fully appreciated the richness of her spirit will miss her terribly nonetheless: Cole and Drew Lennon, Tanner and Layla Aston, Alex and Emily Wockenfuss, and Eric, Jacob, Noah, Jocelyn and Maddox Stout. Heaven gained a superhero, a saint and a Florence Nightingale today. HOGAN WILMINGTON Delaware Blue Gold All-Star football game. Throughout his battle with cancer Tom served as an ad ington in 2011. He was a 1934 graduate of St. John's High School, Worcester, MA, and earned a bachelor' degree (1938) and a master's degree (1939) in electrical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Peter went to work for the Bell Telephone Company in 1939 and, before his retirement in 1982, worked his way up to a vice-presidency of Bell Laboratories.

A faithful Roman Catholic from birth, he enriched his life with Mass, daily prayer and spiritual reading. A member of the Knights of Columbus for 85 years, he was a Past Grand Knight and a former trustee of the Nashua Council of the Knights. Peter and Evelyn donated to many Catholic charities and funded the construction of St. Francis Church in the village of Mprim, Ghana, as well as several other churches in the country. Peter was an avid fan of the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Patriots and the Bruins and he kept fit with daily walks and stretching exercises.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Catholic Church, 89 Main Street, South Grafton, on Saturday, July 22, at 10:00 A.M. He will be buried in the family lot in St. Patrick Cemetery, Whitinsville, after the Mass. His children will meet with relatives and friends in St.

Professionally, she was Florence Nightingale. To her husband Bob Lennon, who passed away in 2003, she was everything. Lois was a world traveler, tap and ballroom dancer, clarinetist, registered nurse, accomplished seamstress, songstress, champion quil-ter, high school musical diva, an avid reader. Superb at baking, cake decorating, ceramics, needlepoint, and at engaging perfect strangers in conversation to brighten their day, Lois spent every precious minute of her life mindfully with purpose, endless energy, kindness, courage, humor, and most importantly, selflessness. There was no challenge too daunting if it benefited her family or her stalwart groups of beloved friends.

Hailing from West Virgin- Peter P. Koliss, 101, died on Sunday, July 16, 2017, in Shipley Manor Health Care Nursing Home, Wilmington, DE, after a period of declining health. His wife of 64 years, Evelyn M. (Guilmette) Koliss, died in 2004. He leaves a daughter, Sister Joan A.

Koliss, OSF, of Aston, PA; a son, Thomas J. Koliss and his wife, Carolyn P. Becker, of Wilmington; and nieces and nephews, especially Fran Koliss of Mill-bury, MA. He also leaves a close family friend, the Reverend Father John Albert Opoku-Acquah, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Benim, Ghana.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, John J. and Sophia M. (Knych) Kalisz, of Grafton, MA; a son, Michael J. Koliss of Wilmington; and a sister, Mary Koliss, and three brothers, Frank, Joseph and Henry Koliss, all of Grafton. Peter was born in South Grafton, MA, on June 1, 1916, and he and Evelyn later lived in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland and Nashua, NH.

After Evelyn's death, Peter moved to Wilm Unfa. THERESA C. JOHNSON Born in Wilmington, DE on June 7, 1928; departed this life on July 6, 2017. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Terry Briscoe; daughter-in-law, Donna Johnson and her brother, Arnold Hammond (Mary). She also leaves to cherish her memories 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Hitchens, age 77 passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home with his loving wife at his side, after a long and courageous battle against melanoma. Roland was born on May 26, 1940, the son of Roland Sr. and Nellie Hitchens. He graduated from Haddon-field Memorial High School, Haddonfield, NJ in 1958 and Syracuse University in 1962, with a degree in advertising. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

He was an officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1963-1966, serving with the 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan and the second Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NO Upon release, he returned to Wilmington, working in sales with Hessler Outdoor Advertising, where he met his wife, a marriage lasting almost 46 years. In 1992 he and his partner started Delaware Thomas Joseph Hogan, age 46, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Tom was the youngest son of Robert and Joan Hogan of Wilmington, Delaware. In addition to his parents, Tom is survived by his three brothers; Mike (Sherry), Bob (Sue), and Dan (Sue) and his nephews and niece; Kyle, Cole, Matt, Shane, Ellie and Will, to whom he was a devoted uncle. Tom is an alumnus of the Alexis I.

duPont High School class of 1988 and graduated from the University of Delaware in 1992, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History. He continued his post-graduate work at Wilmington University where he earned a Master's Degree. Tom (Mr. Hogan) was a dedicated and beloved faculty member of A.I. duPont High School for 18 years.

He taught history and social studies, serving as the department chair, and coached football, wrestling and soft-ball. Tom's charismatic nature and obvious passion for his work is evidenced by the exceptional connections he made with his students and athletes. In 2012 he was humbled and honored to be named A.I. Teacher of the Year. He was also selected to be an honorary coach at the THOMAS AGE: 46 1 Southern Delaware native and longtime journalist, Molly JoeAnn Murray of Lewes, Delaware passed away, Monday, July 17, 2017 at Christiana Hospital, due to pancreatitis.

She was 61. Molly was born May 9, 1956, in Dover, Delaware, to Thomas Worth Murray and Nancy Louise Scarborough Murray. She received a B.A in English from Beaver Col-lege-now Arcadia University, and a Master's degree in Journalism from North-western's Medill School of Journalism. A lover of words and the sea, Molly was a journalist for nearly 40 years, working predominantly as an environmental reporter for the Delaware News Journal. Small in stature and voice, her impact on the Delmarva Peninsula and environmental reporting was large.

She was passionate about the environment, fairness, objectivity, and the towns and people of Sussex County whose stories she told in the newspaper. She made reporting fun for those she worked with. Recently, she lent her insights to English, writing and journalism students at Delaware State University and Delaware Technical Community College, LOIS JEAN LENNON AGE: 92 WILMINGTON ia, Lois earned her R.N. at Fairmont General Hospital where she met and married her patient's son (James Robert Lennon). The family moved to Wilmington, where, after raising their four children, Lois returned to nursing at St.

Francis Hospital, Brandywine Convalescent Center and Episcopal Church Home. After retiring, she grandparented an army of grandchildren and great grandchildren, passing on her passions for dance, singing, sewing, needlework, baking, and for one young boy, vacuum cleaners. Lois was equally comfortable defending a soccer goal as teaching Monopoly strategy and sharing the secret behind the perfect cookie. She was the loudest and proudest spectator at graduations, stage performances, horse shows, swim meets, sports events, cheer competitions, and recitals across the country. By example, she cultivated careers in the medical field among several of her offspring.

Lois delighted in her community at St. Mary of the Assumption R. C. Church, where she was a Eucharis-tic Minister to the Sick, a member of the Ladies' Guild and the Sages. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society.

Birds and squirrels call her backyard an oasis with its multitude of feeders. And the celebration of Christmas will be one notch less festive without Lois's nine gorgeously decorated trees that graced vocate for many other patients and their families. He was a committee member, mentor and frequent speaker with The Helen Graham Center and was a keynote presenter at the For Pete's Sake annual Gala in 2012. Outside of teaching and coaching, Tom was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. Whether he was competing in a game of backyard wiffle ball, performing with his band, Walt's Fault, or simply entertaining the crowd with his encyclopedic knowledge of cinema and music, Tom's enthusiastic spirit was infectious, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to join Tom's colleagues and students as we celebrate his life at A.I. du-Pont High School on Saturday, July 22 at The celebration is open to everyone who was impacted by Tom's life.
